Belle Amie voted off the X Factor

October 31st, 2010 by Lisa McGarry.

Belle Amie have been eliminated from the X Factor.

The girls found themselves in the bottom two alongside Katie Waissel. Katie chose to sing Trust In Me by Etta James for her save me song, while the girls chose Breakaway by Kelly Clarkson.

They had a lot to make up for. Katie wowed the judges on last night’s show with her rendition of ‘Bewitched’, while the panel were lukewarm about Belle Amie’s version of Venus. After their performance Dannii Minogue said:

“Girls it was fun but I think, when you hear it back, the vocals were not on track. I think you needed to put as much effort into the vocals as the staging. ”

Tonight, the performance was all about the singing, however it just wasn’t good enough. The first line was weak and the only one who really stood out for us throughout the song was blonde beauty Sophia Wardman. Rebecca Creighton finished the song badly and was completely out of time with what was a deafeningly loud backing track!

On the other hand, Katie delivered another stunning performance, full of emotion and feeling. It was an easy choice for the judges….or it should have been.

Cheryl saved Katie, Simon saved Belle Amie, Dannii saved Katie and Louis Walsh, with the deciding vote opted to send the result to deadlock. Dermot revealed that Katie had received more public votes and so she progressed to next week, while the doomed girl group were sent home.
